Moto G is much better than Xiaomi Mi 3, even though the latter one has much better specs, but the screen quality, UI and the overall android experience just doesn’t match up to the mighty Moto G.

Why Moto X is the best smartphone of 2014?

Moto X is the best smartphone of 2014

2014 has already witnessed a lot of smartphone launches this year – be it Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC ONE M8, LG G3 or Sony Xperia Z2.

All the above smartphones have exceptional specifications, no doubt, but more than that they come at exorbitant prices. At around Rs.50000 (not for Galaxy S5, which is available under 40,000 rupees), they look very costly to be true.

On the other hand, at mere Rs.24000 rupees you are getting, what i think, the best smartphone your mind and heart can ask for i.e. Moto X.

The following are the top 5 reasons why I feel Motorola’s Moto X is the best smartphone of 2014:

1. Price: The price of Moto X is nearly half the price of all the smartphones that i have listed above. And trust me, it matters a lot. With a phone like Moto X, you can use it anyway you want without worrying too much about getting it lost or breaking it or even getting scratches.

2. Super Comfortable: Trust me when i say this, the moment you hold Moto X in your hands and get a feel of it, you will not even think about any other smartphone. With 4.7 inch screen, it hits the sweet spot in terms of looks and comfort. It fits so well in your hands, looks so good with 4.7 inch screen (which i think is ideal for any smartphone. Hell even Apple is coming with a 4.7 inch screen phone), and one hand operation is so cool that you would loathe even with the feeling of typing with both hands in case of other flagships that looks like a big brick in comparison to Moto X.

3. Super fast: After even 4 months of using this product, i haven’t witnessed a single lag on this device. Its so quick. On the face of it, you get just a dual core processor (with 2 more processors for contextual computing and language processing), but its speed in performing day to day operations, playing games or going through stuffs is super fast. It is the fastest feeling phone that i have tried so far. It just doesn’t lag.

I didn’t find the same speed in the Galaxy S5, which lags like anything (or is it just its tacky TOUCH WIZ theme).

4. Exceptional Build Quality: The build quality of Moto X is so much better than the ones of Galaxy S5 and LG G3. Its only HTC ONE M8 and Sony Z2 that come with premium metal and glass cover. But even they look very bulky for a smartphone.

A smartphone should be sturdy, yes, but at the same time it should feel super comfortable and ultra light. And that is what Moto X is. Its rubberized back gives you that extra grip you need to hold the phone better. And the moment your finger touches the Motorola dimple at the back of the phone, you know you are in heaven 🙂

It is one of the best feeling, super sturdy, phone that i have used till now.

5. Form Factor: I have said it a lot of times in this article, and i will say it again… and i will keep saying it even after the launch of Moto X + 1 (which has 5.2 inches screen and is very tall) that Moto X has one the best form factors that you can find in a mobile phone.

Even Apple iPhone 6 will come in the exactly similar form factor as the Moto X. Now, this thing tells you so much about why i am raving about Moto X’s form factor.

The screen size of 4.7 inches is ideal for a smartphone. Plus, the bezel less display makes this phone so compact (for such a big display). Plus, the guys at Motorola has spent so many months to design an ideal smartphone that fits the palm of your hands like anything. Yes, its our very own MOTO X.

Finally, all those people who think getting a new flagship at 50,000 rupees will help them make a style statement, hear this out. Even now, people turn around, after seeing this phone in my hands, and ask me about Moto X and tell me how good it looks. They regret their decision of purchasing a super expensive smartphone that does nothing.

Anyways, if you still want to go ahead with any other smartphone, you can go for Samsung Galaxy S5. Its available for Rs.35000.

Moto E promises to be slimmer and cheaper

Amidst all the rumors of Motorola’s new flagship X + 1, PhoneArena came up with the leaked specs of Motorola’s upcoming budget android smartphone – Moto E.

Before talking more about Moto E, its price and availability, lets first check out its leaked specifications:

  • 4.3 inch screen (can be sub 720p, as the box doesn’t mention an HD screen)
  • 3G capable
  • 5MP AF camera
  • 1.2 Ghz dual core processor
  • 1900 mAh battery life
  • Dual Sim Capability
  • 1GB RAM + 4GB Internal Memory (no mention about the expandable memory yet).
  • The best thing is 6.2 mm thickness (which means it would be very sleek).

You can also check the below image for the detailed specifications of Moto E:

Leaked Specifications of Motorola's Moto E

Moto E is expected to release in Mexico first, thanks to the overwhelming demand of budget android smartphones there. It would be priced at around $230 (off contract).

Now, Moto E promises to be cheaper and slimmer than Moto G. But we will have to see if it actually performs better than Moto G, which has set very high standards in budget android segment.

The sub 720p screen and dual core processor disappoint a bit, but its razor sharp looks can surely fetch it a lot of customers. However, given its weak specifications, we expect it to be way cheaper than Moto G.
